The Analog Archive FAQ

Everything you need to know about starting your vinyl journey, building your first setup, and caring for your records.

A basic, entry-level analog setup starts between ৳90,000 and ৳120,000. However, if you are serious about audio fidelity, we highly recommend our "Future-Proof Tier" (৳150,000 - ৳200,000).

At this tier, you bypass entry-level gear completely. We source heritage-grade German and Japanese turntables, paired with legendary Japanese and American amplifiers and speakers (featuring legacy brands like Yamaha, Marantz, and McIntosh). Investing at this level ensures you will not need to upgrade your system for decades.
Streaming services like Spotify compress digital audio files to save bandwidth, which strips away the depth, warmth, and subtle details of the original recording.

Vinyl is a lossless, physical medium. When the diamond stylus tracks the physical grooves of a record, it reproduces the music as a continuous, uncompressed analog wave. It delivers exactly what the artist recorded in the studio—resulting in a richer, wider, and much warmer soundstage.
RPM stands for Revolutions Per Minute.

Standard 12-inch albums usually play at 33 ⅓ RPM, which allows for about 22 minutes of music per side.

45 RPM is typically used for 7-inch singles or premium audiophile 12-inch presses. Because the record spins faster, the audio waveform is stretched over a longer physical distance in the groove. This results in higher audio fidelity, better high-frequency response, and a wider dynamic range.
Proper care ensures your records last a lifetime:

1. Handling: Always hold the record by its outer edges or the center label. Never touch the playable grooves with your fingers, as oils attract dust.
2. Storage: Store your records strictly vertically (like books on a shelf). Never stack them flat on top of each other, and keep them away from direct sunlight or heavy heat to prevent warping.
3. Cleaning: Invest in an anti-static carbon fiber brush. Lightly brush the record as it spins on the turntable before dropping the needle to remove surface dust.
